This is what I feel like some days...like my head is full of whole and my brains leaked out...I guess I'm lucky my feet still work...knock on wood.

ARCIMBOLDO'S DREAM GIRL...
Here is another painting from artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo...you may remember I have shown his works before they are rather hard to forget once you have seen one. I was surprised to run across this one I didn't know he had ever painted a veggie woman.
I don't think he liked women very much judging from the fruit he used to make her...after all I've heard them called a lot of things before but never lemons.

TO DREAMS THAT HAVE FLOWN...
To dreams that have flown and visions that will never be
an angel returned to heaven...where all things are safe in Gods hands.
For he is wise and knows what is best for all.

KISSING A FOOL...
~
It is very sad to me that some people insist on using good things for a bad purpose, and also that the actions of a few reflect on a large group. I generally try to be understanding until I have been proven wrong. Thank you Sissy Bea for cluing me in on the Chinese dots and thanks for looking out for me.
I will continue to love and admire the Chinese and their culture but all comments in Chinese will be deleted...Sorry.
This wasn't a total wash I like the way the picture turned out...

BLESS THE BEASTS & THE CHILDREN...

Bless the beasts and the children
For in this world they have no voice
They have no choice
Bless the beasts and the children
For the world can never be
The world they see
Light their way
When the darkness surrounds them
Give them love
Let it shine all around them
Bless the beasts and the children
Give them shelter from a storm
Keep them safe
Keep them warm.
Bless the beasts and the children.

NIGHT OF QUIXOTE...
I love this awesome image of Don Quixote. The jouster of windmills was one of my fathers favorite stories too...he had several images of the Don around his house. One of the hardest things about death is not being able to share silly little things like this picture...I think my Dad would have liked it. Also for me not being able to ask questions about the past...it's annoying to have a question and realize that he is the only one who could answer it. So a word to the wise if your parents are still here...ask all your question now.

This is the 100th post on Anne Noir...so to celebrate I am dedicating this post to my dear old Dad. That's him in his highchair planning his next business move. My Dad was in his element buying and selling. There was nothing in his realm that was not for sale for a price. I used to joke that if selling kids wasn't against the law I would have been long gone. I lived under my Father's roof for 20 years...actually it was 16 different roofs as he indulged his passion for real estate. The man could sell ice to an Eskimo. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time...as his Uncle Bud used to say "That @#$% kid could fall down the privy in an out house and come out smelling like a rose." Dad also knew how to manage the money he made...I spent half my life calling him Scrooge...but when you really needed help...he was always there.

REALITY IN BLACK AND WHITE...
~
Although I love , love , love color I also find myself drawn to black and white...hence Annie Noir. You may have notice the graphic changes on my other blogs because of Blogger's new design feature. I tried it out and was kind of annoyed to find you cannot go back to the old style blog design once you install the new. Although I like the new graphics well enough I think I am going to hang on to that old style on Anne Noir because I like the stark black & white style with no bells and whistles. What do you think...quiet simplicity or bells and whistles?Wednesday, June 9, 2010

TRASH TALK...
Some days I'm just not fit for human consumption and lately I find I have been having whole weeks that way. I think that's why I have enjoyed my cyber art so much because it helps me get through the day quickly. I hope to "Snap out of it!" soon...until then I don't really feel much like talking. I hope to be more myself soon...please don't give up on me.Sunday, April 11, 2010

What is Irish diplomacy?
It's the ability to tell a man to go to hell,
So that he will look forward to making the trip.

And those who wish they were.

THE LAST OF THE LIMERICKS...

There once was an old man of Lyme
Who married three wives at a time.
When asked, "Why a third?"
He replied, "One's absurd!
And bigamy, sir, is a crime."
A lighthouse keeper called Creighton
took to seeing a lady from Brighton,
but ships ran aground,
and sailors were drowned,
as she wouldn't have sex with the light on
A bather whose clothing was strewed,
By winds that left her quite nude,
Saw a man come along,
And unless we are wrong,
You expected this line to be lewd.

AYE LOVE A LIMERICK...
~
A gourmet dining at Crewe
Found a rather large mouse in his stew.
Said the waiter, "Don't shout
And wave it about,
Or the rest will be wanting one, too."
There was a young fellow called Binn
Who was so excessively thin
That when he essayed
To drink lemonade
He slipped through the straw and fell in.

BLESS YOUR BLACK IRISH HEART...
God's plan made a hopeful beginning,But Man spoilt his chances by sinning;
We trust that the story
Will end in great glory,
But at present the other side's winning.
There was a young girl from Rabat,
who had triplets, Nat, Pat and Tat;
It was fun in the breeding,
But hell in the feeding,
When she found she had no tit for Tat.

MY GARGOYLES THING...

Did I ever tell you I have a THING for gargoyles...I mean a sculpture in stone is a wonderful thing but a sculpture in stone created 200 feet in the air hanging off the side of a cathedral is truly amazing. Here are a few of the lovely gargoyles in my collection...they are more modern creations and some are very funny there is even one of Darth Vader.Saturday, February 27, 2010

MY SORRY VALENTINE...
We went and bought my little 92 year old mother-in-law a box of her favorite chocolates for Valentines Day...I'm just posting this to remind myself why I told my sweetie not to buy me any and why I'm not going to eat the free sample they gave us at the chocolate shop.I dedicate this Valentine to my dear friends who are trying to eat right...and to all sugar junkies like me struggling to make it one more day without a fix. Things certainly haven't gotten any where near this bad but why wait until it has.
